Data vs. information

The loads of technical measurement data created continuously by a typical IT installation, is extremely useful for real time monitoring (e.g. error detection and alarms). But it rarely makes any sense as basis for decisions on a tactical and strategic level.

SMT Data's tools first perform an intelligent evaluation and aggregation of selected technical measurements. This data is then provided with attributes describing their relation to the business. The resulting information is saved and historised in a business-oriented data warehouse.
