SMT/ERM
SMT Data’s flagship since 1990, SMT/ERM was always the number one choice to support IT Service Delivery (or IT Service Design). Today it is also the basis for IT Business Intelligence in mainframe installations – independent of the sourcing situation.
SMT/ERM collects statistical data regarding mainframe operations (created by the mainframe system itself). The data is sorted and evaluated using SMT Data’s vast experience to focus on the most relevant. The selected data is then aggregated into a statistically valid and meaningful history. This way the amount of data is reduced to a level where an installation is able to keep several years of historic data for trend analysis - at a low cost.
The collected data is stored in a data warehouse, which can be equipped with additional dimensions of information supplied by the organisation. This means that measurements regarding IT service and resource consumption may be stored and retrieved according to non-technical qualifiers – e.g. by business area, organisational unit etc. SMT Data’s standards and recommendations will transform the installation’s technical data into clear information with a high value also at the tactical and strategic levels.
SMT/ERM has several ways of creating meaningful reports, including a genuine BI interface. Drill-down from the sublime overview down to focus on the most detailed level is possible through a few mouse-clicks.
